Finish Repair and Touch Up

What is the first thing people see when they look at your piano? It's the case, of course! Just like a brand new piece of furniture, you want to keep your piano looking as good as it sounds.  Normal wear and tear happens over time. Direct sunlight causes bleaching or cracking of the finish. Damage occurs during improper transport or having too much fun at social gatherings. Party glasses and flower vases can cause water stains on the case. Perhaps little Johnny drops his favorite metal toy from the upper staircase onto the lid of the family heirloom piano. Don't worry!  Ello Piano Service will come to the rescue with skillful finish touch up!  We have repaired many case finishes by touching up scratches, dings, or spots instead of doing an expensive refinishing of the entire piano.

The photos below give an example of the kind of finish touch up that we perform. When inquiring about our services for touch up, we often request that you send us photos so that we have an idea of the extent of the damage and can properly estimate the repair cost. We work on both lacquer and polyester finishes, and we also use the best finish touch up materials. These materials have a short shelf life, and we make sure that the finish products that we use on your piano are fresh and not beyond an expiration date.

You may want to consider having us buff out scratches or fill in chips and gouges so that your instrument doesn't have any overtly noticeable cosmetic blemishes. We also carry a cleaner/polish that you can purchase at the time of your appointment. Call us at 281-633-0622 or email cat@ellopianoservice.com with your inquiries.
